I signed the consent trusting that he would perform the surgery as we discussed. He betrayed that trust and I am paying the price.

I post them because I want people to know that these horrible things happen when doctors deceitfully tell the patients they are going to perform the surgery in a certain manner and then do something slipshod and injurious because they do not have the skills they claim and/or cut corners to save time (and get more people into the OR to make a fast buck).

They would not blame a victim of a car accident for buying a car, they should not blame you for the work of a creep.
That said, you still look good. I’ve met people who were severly so disfigured by birth defects or accidents that they physically could not do what they wanted. As long as you have two legs and a working brain, you can offer the world more than your victim’s account.

I don’t want to preach, but you’re more than a victim. Do what you can to save others from that quack, but also take care of yourself. Try volunteering or doing something for the community, if you haven’t already. Actions speak louder than looks. The more you physically get out and help people, the more people will look past your surgery. Your actions will speak for themselves, as they should.

I’ve considered rhinoplasty for years. What I want done is a small procedure to make the bridge of my nose a little less wide. I’d be a hypocrite if I said I didn’t support cosmetic surgery, but I do feel it’s ridiculous to expect surgery to perform miracles. I could live without the rhinoplasty, and still be completely happy with my face. I’m sorry this happened to you, I sincerely am, and although the Dr. may have made a mistake, the surgery was elective. It was your choice.

Doctors would be lining up to help you if this happened from an accident, disease or birth defect.
