Sushruta is the father of surgery. 2600 years ago he and health scientists of his time conducted surgeries like cesareans, cataract, fractures and urinary stones. Usage of anaesthesia was well known in ancient India. Dental (tooth extraction) and Rhinoplasty (nose job) surgery was also being done. During vedic times, a person who committed adultery had his nose cut off ! Ouch! Search ancient indian surgery.
Excellent presentation of a wonderful Plastic Surgeon on his career in this field of Medicine with interesting & insightful commentary regarding the many varrying aspects within the area of Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery.
