I think the scriptures have let me know that god thinks we’re putting too much weight on the appearance anyway. I don’t think god finds it very cool that we humans do plastic surgery.
I would say that God does not like plastic surgery. If you are unhappy with yourself, you have poor self esteem, etc.. that’s like slapping God in the face. He created you how He wants you, and in HIS IMAGE!
I personally don’t like it, but if that’s what makes people feel good about themselves than so be it. I think that when we voluntarily cut, inject, implant, etc. things to our body we are defacing something that is already beautiful and natural.
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other… This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Gal. 5:16-17
What this means is that we should be concerned by caring more about the spiritual world than our bodies which will one day die>
I think that he’s not exactly pleased, since you’re trying to change the looks He gave you. Since ear piercings don’t change your entire looks, they just enhance your natural beauty, I think that’s okay.
I don’t think God is pleased with plastic surgery for pure vanity (as opposed to reconstructive surgery, as you mentioned.) God created us and our bodies are his temple. I don’t think that piercings or tattoos are very acceptable in his eyes, either, but I’d be inclined to think that he’d prefer an ear piercing (which is easily removed and leaves little scarring) to something as permanent as a tattoo or as irreversible as a face lift, as examples. I know that many forms of body alteration (from piercings, to tattoos, to surgery) are okay according to our society, but I don’t think that a Christian should indulge in those things because they are an insult to God and they do deface the body that God gave us.
In the Bible it talks about how a servant getting his ears pierced showed that he was faithful to his master. If getting your ears pierced will remind you to stay faithful to the Lord, then so be it. But God made us in His image, and changing our bodies to look more like what the world wants us to look like is a personal insult to Him.
No we are human with faults and God looks at our hearts not what we do or don’t do. If you choose to do it then do it. Its okay to have fun in life and live it too!
GREAT QUESTIONS!! Only “God” can answer that one, but I wouldn’t be surprised if He felt disappointed in our decisions to have plastic surgery. It would mean we were not happy with what He gave us. But I really don’t know. Just my opinion.
none of us can second guess God, but of course, it depends on the reason for the plastic surgery….if it’s for repair of scars brought on by burns or other disfiguring accidents, I’m sure God approves whole heartedly, but God dislikes vanity, so I’m guessing God disapproves of face lifts/tummy tucks, ****** enhancements, and other liposuctions and BoTox.
God judges the heart, not the body. It is not a sin to pierce your ears, smoke cigarettes, get tattooes, eat a ham and swiss on rye, dye your hair green or get plastic surgery. Even Paul says that all things are legal, though not all things are good (like drinking, smoking, etc.)
The only sin that you can take into your body is the sin of sexual immorality, and that is defined as any *** outside of marriage.
Honey please dont ever judge any of these people. God will do any judging when the time comes. I personally think some surgery like inplants and face reconfiguration is not what God wants, but I dont know. I think piercing is ok, in the Bible it does speak of ear Judges 8:22-28 . But this does not prove anything either. Just believe with all your heart and show God that you love him.

God doesn’t intervene in your individuality, but you must bear the consequence of your acts. To know God, read: “The Bhagavad Gita as It Is”

Like a person who bought a nice Xmas present for someone, only to find out they traded it in for something else that they thought was better.
Not very happy
